First Icon Tutorial

I decided to make one for this Icon.

Started off with This Image from MuggleNet.com and cropped it down to 100X100 for the base.

Base Image
Next I duplicated the layer and desaturated it (Image>Adjustments>Desature)
then added a gaussian Blur at 3

Ugly isn't it?
Duplicate the base layer again and drag it to the top.
Sharpen it and set it to Soft Light.

Duplicate the Soft Light layer and drop the opacity to 30%

Add a new layer and fill it with #002441 set to exclusion at 30%

Add another new layer and fill it with #99836A set that to Soft Light at 30%

Then another layer #ffffff (white)soft light at 100%
Add some Text and a border and you have your image :D
